EventPay vendors can now take contactless cards and phone wallets with Tap to Pay on iPhone, or tap, chip, and swipe on the mobile card reader.

Guests already know how to pay: they tap a card or a phone. Starting today, every EventPay booth can take that payment directly, with Tap to Pay on iPhone or the mobile card reader, on the same POS vendors already use for the event wallet.
Tap to Pay on iPhone
Vendors accept contactless cards and phone wallets right on their iPhone, inside the EventPay POS. There is no extra hardware to ship, charge, or lose in a field.
- Works on iPhone XS or later. An organizer admin accepts Apple’s terms once per merchant, and every approved iPhone on the event can take cards.
- Ready for the rush. The reader warms up when the POS opens and whenever it comes back to the foreground, so the first tap of the night isn’t a wait.
- More lanes when you need them. At peak, another iPhone is another register.
The mobile card reader
For vendors on Android or iPad, and for booths that want dedicated hardware, the mobile card reader pairs with the POS over Bluetooth. Guests can tap, insert a chip card, or swipe.
Vendors pair it themselves from the POS: the nearest reader shows up first, or they can type its serial number. The reader is registered to the event’s merchant automatically. The first connection downloads the reader’s keys and takes a few minutes. After that, the phone remembers it.
No app, no account, no token lecture
A card sale is just a card sale. It’s priced in dollars, any card fee shows on its own line before the guest taps, and the guest doesn’t need the event app or an account. If they do scan their wallet code, the order attaches to their account. Otherwise it doesn’t matter.
That matters for events that never wanted tokens in the first place: conferences, comedy clubs, sports, and any site where guests expect to pay the way they pay everywhere else. EventPay now runs those events card-first, with the event wallet there for VIP credit, packages, and pour limits if you want it.
Receipts and refunds
After every card sale, approved or declined, the POS offers a receipt: a QR code on screen, a text, an email, or a printed slip on a Star or Bluetooth printer. Refunds go back to the original card.
For the operator
Card payments are switched on in Studio for the event, then on or off by location. You can set a card fee per location, approve each phone with a 6-digit code or trust a booth outright, and see money split by payment type and by reader in Studio Financials, alongside wallet sales.
See how card payments work, or book a demo and we’ll show you a card sale set up for your vendors.
